Welcome on the web MartinHaman.com
This space is mainly used for demonstration of publishing reports to the public website as part of consultations and training on Power BI issues.
Since 2005 I have been training MS Office applications focused on Excel, data analysis, dashboards and reporting. As Power Tools began to appear a few years ago, I immediately used them to solve problems that ordinary Excel can’t. A new level of reporting has been offered by a group of tools and services named Microsoft Power BI, which has become my favorite reporting environment. The consultations meet frequently recurring requests and most of the problems are answered by on-premises or cloud based Power BI tools and services.
I understand Power Tools in Excel – creation of data model in Power Pivot including DAX language, data mining through Power Query and so-called M language, last but not least creation of visualizations, so called dashboards or infographics, not only Power View and Power Map (3D Map).
Reports published here were created in Power BI Desktop and we are getting to what I am most interested in. I create custom reports, custom solutions (Power BI Audit), consultations and training. Power BI Desktop without cooperation with Power BI Services (a possible benefit of Office 365) and the ability to publish or share reports would not be such a perfect self-service BI tool.
A few years old tool is Power BI Report Server, which offers an on-premise option for those who do not want to cloud. More information can be found on these pages again.
My hobby in Power BI is to connect to information systems and create BI modules, that enable you to monitor virtually anything in an interactive and transparent way.
Furthermore, I deal with the upcoming Reporting 4.0 in combination with Data Stories and other elements of modern reporting.
I also try to share my knowledge at conferences and meetings with those interested in Power BI.
